H.E. Mr. Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation visits to Myanmar

The Russian delegation led by H.E. Mr. Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation arrived in Myanmar at 10 pm on 4 December.

Ministry of Home Affairs and Russian Security Council consult on law enforcement and security cooperation

The Consultations between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Security Council of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in Law Enforcement and Security were held at MICC II in Nay Pyi Taw on 5 December 2023 during the visit of H.E. Mr. Nikolai Patrushev, the secretary of the Russian Security Council to Myanmar.

Myanmar delegation led by State Administration Council Member National Security Advisor Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Russian delegation led by Security Council Secretary Mr Nilolai Patrushev attended the event.

At the meeting, the two parties discussed the bilateral relations in the international arena, military cooperation, military-technical cooperation, international information security, interaction between law enforcement organizations, sector-wise cooperation and strategic cooperative partnership.

Then, the event continued with talks on the topics of “Trade and Economic Cooperation”, “Food Security”, “Energy Cooperation” and “Financial Security”.

After the discussions, SAC Member National Security Advisor Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Russian Security Council Secretary Mr. Nilolai Patrushev signed an MoU on Myanmar-Russia cooperation and exchanged gifts.

Moreover, SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo and the Russian Security Council Secretary signed an MoU on cooperation in international information security and exchanged gifts.

SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing honours Secretary of Security Council of Russian Federation Mr Nikolai Patrushev with title of performance

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing conferred the honorary title of Thray Sithu on Mr Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, for his excellent performance in strengthening relations and establishing close cooperation between Myanmar and the Russian Federation at the State Administration Council Chairman Office on 5 December 2023.

Also present at the ceremony were SAC Vice-Chairman Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win, SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Zeya Kyaw Htin Sithu Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Thiri Pyanchi Sithu Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Union Government Office 2 Thiri Pyanchi U Ko Ko Hlaing, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Russian Federation Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Iskander Azizov and officials.

The Russian delegates attended the dinner hosted by the SAC Member National Security Advisor Union Minister for Home Affairs in the evening.

Russian Security Council Secretary presents Order of Alexander Nevsky to SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, discussing enhanced bilateral cooperation

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Mr. Nikolai Patrushev presented the Order of Alexander Nevsky conferred by the Preseidnet of the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Putin on Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the Credentials Hall of the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw on the afternoon of 6 December 2023. They discussed the promotion of bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, the Senior General first said that he warmly welcomed the delegates led by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation expressed thanks to the Senior General for welcoming his delegation warmly. Moreover, he said that President of the Russian Federation Mr Vladimir Putin conferred the Order of Alexander Nevsky on SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing for his valuable endeavours to develop multi-sectoral cooperation with the Russian Federation and the Order of Friendship on SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.

The Senior General expressed his thanks for the Order conferred by Russian President Mr Vladimir Putin and cordially exchanged views with the Secretary on international issues and ASEAN issues, lesser prospects to control the world by a single powerful country due to the change from the unipolar to the multipolar in the international arena, prospects of various countries in cooperation, the plan of Russian Federation to stand for Myanmar in the international arena, Myanmar’s continued stand for Russian over the efforts for ensuring perpetuation of sovereignty of Russia, promotion of cooperation in defence and security measures between the two countries, bilateral cooperation in counter-terrorism, exchange of information between the two countries to combat terrorism, direct payment between Myanmar and neighbouring countries in trade, successful holding the naval exercise between two armed forces of Myanmar and the Russian Federation, direct flight and promotion of the tourism sector, promotion of cooperation in health, energy, electric power, oil and natural gas, manufacturing of fertilizers to be used in the agricultural sector, trade and steel production, cooperation in the health and medical sectors between the two countries, more sending of scholarship students from Myanmar to Russia, and further promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The ceremony was also attended by SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Joint Secretary of the Council Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister at the Union Government Office2 U Ko Ko Hlaing and officials. The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation was accompanied by Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Iskander Azizov, and officials.
