Effective Period for Temporary Measures to Prevent Importation of COVID-19 to Myanmar through Air Travel Extended till 31 Jan 2021

The effective period the Temporary Measures to Prevent Importation of COVID-19 to Myanmar through Air Travel issued on 29 March 2020 by the Ministry of Health and Sports was extended up to 31 December 2020 23:59 Hours Myanmar Standard Time, in line with the approval of the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19.

As the infection of this disease remains increasing in most of the countries and more infectious variant of the COVID-19 virus first found in Britain has spread to other countries, including Asian nations, the existing effective period will be further extended with the approval of the National-Level Central Committee for Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19, till 31 January 2021, 23:59 hours of Myanmar Standard Time.

Meanwhile, in order to recover the country’s economy affected by the COVID-19, the relevant ministries are discussing phase-by-phase resumption of international commercial flights under the guidance of the national COVID-19 committee in line with healthcare standard procedures depending on the situation of this disease.
